ASBA remains actively engaged with a broad network of collaborators to enhance its influence, build positive and effective relationships and advocate in support of members. Through ongoing collaboration, ASBA fosters meaningful dialogue, shares knowledge and works collectively to strengthen Alberta’s education system.

ASBA continued to participate in meetings and events hosted by education partners, the Fraternal Collaboration Group and other key organizations. These connections provide valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, collaborate on initiatives and discuss shared topics of interest.

National Engagement

ASBA continues to strengthen its national advocacy through its membership in the Canadian School Boards Association (CSBA). By working with inter-provincial associations, ASBA engages in discussions on emerging education trends and advocates on shared priorities at the federal level.

Through CSBA, ASBA has participated in meetings with federal ministers, Members of Parliament and Senators to advance key education issues on topics such as Indigenous education, rural internet access, Climate Action Incentive Funds, anti-racism, school nutrition programs and French language supports.

ASBA was pleased to host the quarterly CSBA Board of Directors meeting, where the Minister of Education joined Presidents, Executive Directors and CEOs from across Canada.

Additionally, ASBA participated in the 2024 CSBA National Trustees Gathering on Indigenous Education & CSBA Congress, hosted by the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association, joining member trustees to learn, network and collaborate with education leaders nationwide

International Engagement

ASBA participated in the 2024 National School Boards Association Annual Conference, alongside member school board trustees. This event provided a valuable opportunity to network, learn and connect with education experts from across the United States and Canada. Through these interactions, ASBA supported members in gaining insights into best practices, emerging trends and new ideas to enhance governance and educational outcomes.
